Drawn from life over four sittings at the Wimbledon studio of artist Sam Clayden, this is Venezuelan creative journalist and artists' model, Carla Tofano. In this case, one 'sitting' meant a 6 hour day, broken into many rounds where Carla would hold the same pose continuously for up to 20 minutes at a time.
 
The second image shows the progress of the drawing from initial shape block-in through to rendering the form of the figure using careful gradations between light and shadow.  Maddy's favourite part of this drawing is the knee!
