This bronze sculpture inspired by professional art model, ‘Madalena’, sits resolutely but with a hint of tenderness. The pale gold patina balances a lightness against the steadfastness and weight of the medium. Sculpted from life in Battersea and cast in bronze in Hoxton, and after much experimentation, the sculpture represents the artist’s first major resolved piece in three dimensions.
